Jeff Carige started his career in the Royal Australian Air Force where he spent 11 years in the communications and electronics engineering field. Jeff retired from the military services in 2001 and moved into the Department of Defence as a civilian.
Jeff worked in a number of areas across the Department, specialising in capability management and programme delivery, with a specific focus on data collection and exploitation.
Jeff was promoted into the Senior Executive Service in September 2015. He is now the Assistant Secretary Intelligence Development in the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, where he is responsible for the implementation of the Department’s intelligence capability strategy and the operation of its cyber intelligence and advanced data analytics capabilities.
